ABOUT BRAINS AND THE UPCAT REVIEW SCHOLARSHIP

Equalizing opportunity through rigorous and fair preparation.
       WHO WE ARE                                                                                THE SCHOLARSHIPS
BRAINS Training and Review is the country’s pioneer in preparation programs for qualifying examinations such as the UPCAT, NMAT, and UPLAE, and is widely recognized for its innovative curricula for licensure reviews in Chemistry and Medicine.

The BRAINS UPCAT Review began in 1990 with only a handful of students. Founded and managed by University of the Philippines alumni, the review was born out of a shared conviction: that success in the UPCAT should not depend on the privilege of one’s school. To help level the field, BRAINS launched a knowledge-based review program designed to give every UP aspirant a fair chance to compete.
Starting mid-1990s, the BRAINS UPCAT Review
Scholarship
opened its doors to public high school
students. Though company resources were limited, its
scholars proved that when given access to quality
preparation, they could — and did — excel.

Today, as pandemic-era students face the lingering effects
of disrupted learning — from rushed modules to uneven
online instruction — BRAINS renews its commitment to
equalizing opportunity. The revived UPCAT Review
Scholarship once again extends a bridge to deserving
students who cannot afford premium review programs,
helping them gain the knowledge, confidence, and
readiness they need to rise to the challenge of the UPCAT.
